Dwight (my car) got a new windshield this past weekend.
As I was driving to work on Friday, a truck threw a rock into my windshield, and put a nice big chip in it. I went to work, planning to get it taken care of that afternoon or the next day. I ended up leaving work early, due to the fact that I wasn't feeling very good. When I came out, the chip had become much more than that. It was a nice big crack all the way across.
In case you can't see it, I traced it out. The little blue circle and lines are the original chip, and the pink is the crack that occurred in a little over 5 hours (click to enlarge).
Needless to say, it was difficult to drive with a crack across my line of vision (yes Jeff, I know I'm short), so Saturday morning, we dropped it off and got the windshield replaced while Michael went to breakfast with his Dad and I went into work to make up the hours I had missed the day before. It took a little bit, but Dwight now has a new (chip and crack free) windshield!

I've been telling you for years that you just need to keep a few phone books in your car, and get some bricks too, that way you can sit on the phone books, and actually see over the dash, and tie the bricks to your shoes so you can reach the pedals.
